About Us

The Ford Elementary School Foundation (FESF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, established in 2005, dedicated to providing enhanced educational opportunities that otherwise would not be a part of the Ford Elementary School instructional program.

The Foundation improves the quality of educational opportunities for students in order to help them reach their fullest potential. FESF is separate from the PTA, and while both are focused on improving the educational experience and run solely by volunteers, Foundation supports different areas that they cannot. FESF can utilize funds for salaries, capital improvements, supplies, equipment, professional development, Earth Parent and other school needs. The PTA works with our school to provide programs and volunteers, but national PTA guidelines limit how PTA can spend funds. The Foundation raises money through donations, grants, and corporate sponsorship and supports objectives based on the needs of the students as well as parent, administration, faculty and community inputs.

A donation to the FESF is a great way to invest in your child’s future and give them the strong STEAM foundation to build on in middle and high school.

Our Purpose

The FESF is organized exclusively for the purpose of raising funds and providing resources beyond those provided by Cobb County School District or the PTA for the benefit of students at Ford Elementary.

Why A Foundation

State and federal funding provide a standard level of educational opportunity for children.  With extra effort, it is possible to improve the quality of that standard.  FESF recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child!

FAQ

FESF is a non-profit organization, dedicated to enriching the educational program and providing educational opportunities that otherwise would not be part of the instructional program at Ford Elementary.  FESF provides academic support that is not funded by the Cobb County School District or the Ford PTA.

The FESF can utilize funds for salaries, capital improvements, supplies, equipment and other school needs.  FESF guidelines are to enrich the school as a whole and that all students should be able to benefit from anything provided by the FESF.  PTA works with our school to provide programs and volunteers, but national PTA guidelines limit how the PTA can spend funds.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year, our Annual Campaign, is in the fall, shortly after the start of the school year.  This gives us a huge boost and gives us an idea of what our budget is for the year.  Other fundraising events are Spirit Nights (CFA, Zaxby’s, Moe’s, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Otters), Foundations Fridays, JIngle Jog, Swinging for STEM, Publix Partners, Kroger Community Rewards, and Corporate Gift Matching.

You can help by making a financial contribution.  Double your donation by asking your employer about Corporate Gift Matching.  Volunteer for Foundation Events.  Participate in Ford’s Annual Jingle Jog.  Link your Kroger and Publix Account.  Show up to Spirit Nights and tell them you are there to support Ford Elementary.

Yes!  Please make checks payable to Ford ES Foundation.  (Cobb County Public Schools Edicational Foundation Tax ID # 58-2487501)  If you are in need of a receipt please email us.
